Can "God's Might" Be Understood Through the Lens of Liquidity?

Hi everyone- businesses, policy makers, people,

Welcome to another chapter of this blog. Today, we'll be discussing something I believe is very timely, given the state of the world's economy. As businesses navigate change, nations set new policies, and people seek clarity—one truth becomes clear, everyone in someway or form is trying to adapt to the shocks in the economy.

It's not breaking news that inflation is skyrocketing in many countries, driving up the cost of living and making life more difficult in one way or another. Yet, this blog brings a word of hope- one that comes from God. When we view "God’s might" through the lens of liquidity, we see that He is more than able to save, restore, and anchor you with the stability you seek in an unstable world.

Author’s Note:
Before you dive into this blog, I recommend you do two things:

  1. Play this instrumental in the background—it was written with it playing, and it sets the tone.

  2. Pray Ephesians 1:18—that God would open the eyes of your understanding as you read.

Liquidity is a company or individuals ability to pay current liabilities or short-term debt obligations without taking out loans or having to raise external capital. When a company has more current assets than it does liabilities, its liquidity position improves.

Using this definition and substituting “God” for “company or individual,” I realized that I have never seen anyone with more liquidity than God. With Easter fast approaching, it’s important to reflect not only on the significance of what God did for us, but also on His might and ability to perform.

There is an Igbo adage that says “Mberede Ka Eji Ama Dike” (You know a brave man is when he is challenged with unforeseen circumstances and can tackle it). This summarises liquidity in five words. The best way to know how liquid a company is, is it’s ability to handle both seen and unforeseen circumstances without external support.

Obviously, there is no such thing as unforeseen circumstances with God, as he knows tomorrow. Therefore, we would assess God's liquidity based on His restorative ability.

God's restorative ability is a contributing factor to why He alone is El Gibbor (The MIGHTY God). (Isaiah 9:6, 10:21). Between Genesis 1:1 and 1:2, we can see that the enemy rebelled causing the earth to be formless, but even in this, God still brought back order to the earth (Genesis 1:1-2). God restored King Nebuchadnezzer after he was driven away from humanity (Daniel 4). He restored Job's wealth and family after severe suffering (Job 42).  Even when Adam and Eve sinned against him, he made a restoration plan- Jesus. He sent Jesus to die on the cross for our sins and brought us back to life eternal.

Linking it with the Igbo adage cited above, God's ability to turn tragic situations around, proves His might. Only someone who has power and authority can provide numerous ways of escape in despondent situations. Hence my point that He has the greatest level of liquidity when looked through the lens of economics.

I pray this blog as a fresh breeze of hope to you.

You may be having sleepless nights and escape from whatever you’re passing through may seem impossible. Your business might be failing, policies and ideas you come up with may not be as effective or you may just be going the roller coster of life, this blog was written to tell you that God is more than able to save and restore you within a twinkling of an eye (Joel 2:25). There is nothing too hard for Him (Jeremiah 32:27). Just seek Him, and I promise you, you will find Him (Matthew 7:7). Humble yourself and pray to Him, and he would answer (2 Chronicles 7:14). He has never failed, and he won’t fail you now (Hebrews 13:8).
